Welcome to our home! Our little slice of paradise right here in Orlando, Florida.
We moved to this house the first week on 2015 and have just fallen more and more in love with making it ours ever since.
I always dreamed of having a huge dining room table so that we’d be able to host family gatherings and holidays at our house. This house finally made that dream a reality! Our dining room table is 9 feet long with 2 extension that make it nearly 12 feet, and perfect for hosting both of our families for Thanksgiving!
While I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of this table throughout the seasons at our house, I wanted to share what it looks like on any given day of the week (*when it isn’t covered with random junk that has no other place — please tell me I’m not the only one).
Our dining room table was purchased second hand from the beautiful family who sold us this house. Their new house needed a different size and shape of dining room table and we just lucked out in being able to buy it from them! The table is the Reclaimed Russian Oak Baluster Extension Table from Restoration Hardware in Reclaimed Brown Oak, and can be found here. We added the Nailhead Fabric Armchairs from RH, also in Brown Oak finish, which you can find here.
While this is of course the most (and only) formal room in our home, I wanted to create a cozy relaxed feeling in this space that helped make it blend in with the rest of our home. This is my first real “grown up” dining room and I just love the way this room is coming together. While we have a long list of things we’d like to add to this space, for now, I am loving the progress we’ve made and feel grateful to have people I love to fill all of those chairs!
How do you style your dining room table when you aren’t using it? We’d love to see pictures of your space in the comments below!
